“Everyone Is Together In This War Against Virus, Please Don’t Pay Double Salary To Us”

Haryana nurses, who are serving in hospitals day and night in the battle against coronavirus, have refused to take double salary. This decision has been taken by the Haryana Nursing Welfare Association.

The Haryana government In April had announced to pay double salary to doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and others who are at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus.

2800 nurses of the Health Department refused to take double salary from the government.

Going a step ahead in this fight, Haryana Nursing Welfare Association has also decided that its members will donate one day’s salary to the Corona Relief Fund.

State president of the association Sunita Devi, general secretary Vinita Kumari, joint secretary Sudesh Chaudhary and deputy head Santosh Malik said that the nursing staff welcomes the government’s decision to pay double the salary. The government is in financial crisis in this phase of epidemic. The association refuses to take double salary due to the outbreak of Kovid-19.

The Haryana government had announced to pay double salary to doctors, nurses, paramedical staff and others who are at the forefront of the fight against coronavirus. Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar made the announcement after a meeting with civil surgeons, Indian Medical Association chiefs from various districts in the state, district ayurvedic officers and others through video conferencing.

“All those connected in this fight against coronavirus — be it doctors, nurses, paramedical staff, class IV staff, ambulance staff, testing lab staff, their salary will be doubled,” he said.

“Till the time the coronavirus period lasts, all the staffers who are directly involved in treatment or taking care of COVID patients, their salary will be doubled,” he said.

Earlier, Khattar had announced that doctors, nurses, paramedics and other staff would get ex gratia benefits of Rs 50 lakh, Rs 30 lakh, Rs 20 lakh and Rs 10 lakh, respectively if they were not covered under the new insurance cover announced by the Centre.
