The Covid-19 pandemic has been the biggest spoiler of the year 2020. Many lives were lost. People lost their jobs. It has exposed our public healthcare system. Economies are in ruin. We have seen extremely tough lockdown. Daily lives were disrupted.
We were asked to maintain social distance. Not all of us were fortunate enough to work from home. The pandemic has left many of India’s poor, especially migrant workers, without jobs, without hope, without any support system. Around 1 crore migrant workers fled India’s megacities.
We are still far away from Covid vaccine. Nobody knows when the normalcy will return.
However, amidst this crisis, some ordinary and not so ordinary men and women, have shown exemplary courage. Frontline health workers have become symbols of our collective spirit.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi termed the coronavirus as “invisible enemy” and called India’s corona warriors as “invincible” asserting that they will win the battle against the virus.
Corona Warriors like doctors, nurses, paramedics, etc. are risking their lives every day to put up a strong fight against coronavirus.
Apart from them, there were many people for whom days during lockdown were just like normal days. They continued working, risking their own lives. Essential services remained accessible to us even during the tough lockdown period, thanks to their efforts.
Healthwire Media has come up with the “Healthcare Crusaders Awards” to celebrate these heroes and honor them.
Doctors, paramedics, nurses, sanitation workers, government staff, ordinary men and women all are engaged in the fight against the COVID-19. They are playing a pivotal role in India’s fight against this deadly virus.
Some of them are just doing their duty, while others are ready to help, even without being asked. Most of these corona warriors epitomize selfless service beyond the call of duty.
