Researchers find Ayurvedic formulation and Neeri KFT to be effective in managing ascites and kidney disease
Patients suffering from ascites a condition in which fluid collects in spaces within the abdomen can now find hope in an Ayurvedic poly-herbal drug that not only slows down the progression of chronic kidney disease but also restores normalcy in the functional parameters of the vital organ, according to a recent study published in the Journal of Ayurveda and Integrated Medical Sciences.
Ayurvedic formulation aids in protecting kidneys and excreting fluid from the abdomen.
Led by Assistant Professor Komala A, Siddesh Aradhyamath, and researcher Mallinath IT from JSS Ayurveda Medical College and Hospital in Karnataka, the study administered a range of Ayurvedic formulations in combination with AIMIL Pharmaceutical’s innovative Neeri KFT to patients with impaired kidneys. Over the course of a month, patients consumed a daily dose of 20 ml of the Ayurvedic formulation, resulting in positive outcomes.
The researchers observed that the herbal drug not only protected the kidneys from further damage caused by ascites but also facilitated the excretion of fluid accumulated in the abdomen. The consumption of the herbal formulation aided in flushing out the fluid through the urinary tract, offering relief to patients suffering from ascites.
Neeri KFT and diuretic herbs play a key role in the treatment.
NEERI-KFT, the herbal medicine developed by AIMIL Pharmaceuticals, is composed of diuretic herbs such as Punarnava, Varun, Sigru, Sariva, Makoi, and Sirish. These herbs are known for their diuretic properties, which assist in the excretion of fluid and toxins from the body. Sanchit Sharma from AIMIL Pharmaceuticals highlighted the effectiveness of Neeri KFT in strengthening the kidneys and promoting the elimination of toxic fluids.
Ascites, often associated with liver dysfunction or malfunction, is a common complication of cirrhosis. It affects approximately 60% of people with cirrhosis within a decade of diagnosis, with a two-year survival rate of 50%.
Alleviating symptoms and improving patient well-being.
Patients with ascites experience various symptoms, including painless swelling in the abdomen, abdominal discomfort, weight gain, feeling full quickly, shortness of breath, and reduced lung capacity due to increased abdominal pressure. The Ayurvedic poly-herbal drug, combined with Neeri KFT, offers hope in alleviating these symptoms and improving the overall well-being of patients suffering from ascites and kidney disease.
As researchers continue to explore the potential of Ayurvedic treatments, this study highlights the positive impact of Ayurveda in managing chronic conditions and restoring normalcy to vital organs.
