Know Why Shouldn’t You Eliminate Fats From Your Weight Loss Diet

Fat-free food sounds quite healthy but actually, that’s not the right choice you make.

When we decide to go on a journey of weight loss, the first thing that comes to our mind is to skip fat and that means skipping ghee wali chapati and no homemade halwas. And eventually, feel like avoiding everything that has ghee or fat in it and thinks that that’s a great idea.

Well, sorry but you are doing it all wrong. Do you know why? That’s because fats are good for your body.

Fat-free food sounds quite healthy but actually, that’s not the right choice you make. Avoiding fat is not a healthy choice to make rather fats are really helpful in fighting many diseases, so do not go fat-free at any cost.

“Fats are an essential macro of our diet and while attempting to lose weight, we need to distinguish between Saturated and Unsaturated fats. While the former leads to high levels of cholesterol and must be limited to less than 7% of your total calories, the latter helps in strengthening the heart and immune system. Sources of unsaturated fat include peanut butter, nuts, pumpkin seeds, and avocados among others. Fats are essential for a healthy body and cutting down fats can increase fat-storing enzymes and decrease metabolism which could have a reverse effect on the body,” said Mr. Vikas D. Nahar, Founder, Happilo International Pvt. Ltd.

Hence, we should always remember that the type of fat we eat is more essential than the quantity of fat we consume. Good fats are considered to be great for cardiovascular health. Lack of fat in the body can raise risks related to the heart.

Moreover, omega-3 acids in fats help in the protection against heart disease, cholesterol, and hypertension. When one tends to eat more while consuming fat-free food, it apparently increases our appetite. So, a fat-free diet is not helpful when it comes to weight loss.
